I was raised by the sheep walks all through the valley. The Basques showed me many of the smaller herds (800) that were caught by lightning and didn'tknow they were dead. They still circle in the old alfalfa fields when a lightning storm arises.
The old Long Horn Bar on Main st. in Lancaster has/had and extraneous bartender on family nights. He was long dead, yet everyone knew him and greeted him on family nights, saturdays. He was a nice man, never frightened the kids, was just THERE. Many places like that in Antelope Valley.
A good place to hang out is Bouquet Canyon and Mint Canyon - you see many people who have lived in the caves nearbye come down and join the camping crowd.
I am 68 now, haven't been back since I was 14. These places may be gone now, but I hope not. The "ghosts" were all pleasant people, none viscious, all able to join in the crowd. The town was very small so they were welcomed as extra persons and joined in. Hope you get a chance to see them.
Thanks for being interested in my home area.
Ask the Basquos to tell the stories, they are very willing.

Hi Mightlyman,
Can you give us any specifics on what you saw and when? Do you recall the name of the deputy? No need to post his name you can send it to Masone's personal e-mail . The more specifics you can recall, the better. The date as close as possible, or at least time of year. Time is important. Before midnight, after midnight? Sundown? Sunrise? Any sounds? Was it the field on the south west corner, north east? Let us know. We would love to check it out!

Mightlyman, just a follow up to the original email you sent out regarding the field. Do you have any specifics that would help us further research this area?

I use to live in Lancaster California. On the west side. I spent many days and evenings in a big field on West Ave L and 70th Street West. In Quartz Hill. That large field riding dirt bikes. When it got dark we would drink some soda , beer or whatever. A lot of strange stuff goes on in that field. Things i can't explain away. A Los Angeles County Sheriff Deputy out of the Lancaster Station also said he has experinced some weid stuff in that field. He told us that many people have killed themselves in that field, some have been murdered in that field and some times bodies are dumped in that field. This is in your town. Have you ever heard of that field being haunted?

does anyone know where there are any places in east Lancaster with paranormal activity?

Hi rsr,
Ghost hunting is a lot like snake hunting. Both involve driving around in the desert in the middle of the night looking for something that may or may not be there. Sometimes you get skunked, sometimes you come across something great. Just like snake hunting, never go alone, always check where you are putting your feet and hands, and safety first. Good luck and let us know what you find.

WITNESSES WANTED!
We have heard an incredible story from 2 unrelated sources. It involves a giant bat (yes we know - we said it was incredible) flying over cars headed north towards Rosamond on Sierra Highway between 9:00PM and Midnight. If you or anyone you know has witnessed this, please contact us here at Antelope Valley Haunts. Just because it sounds ridiculous doesn't mean it didn't happen. People have seen stranger things than that in the desert late at night.

I think this site is pretty cool. I never even heard of the Insane Asylum in Lancaster until i viewd this site. Anyways, I think a good plcae for you guys to go is some of the places that i see while driving to work. I drive from East lancaster to 90th East and Turn left down Ave O, drive straight down to 240th East and down to El Mirage Road. There are all types of old shacks, abandoned stores and old mining places on the roads. There's this place called Murphys Restaurant...which is super old! Just thought I'd let you guys know.

I am completely impressed with the article I have just read. I wish the author of www.antelopevalleyhaunts.com can continue to provide so much productive information and unforgettable experience to www.antelopevalleyhaunts.com readers. There is not much to tell except the following universal truth: Everytime You Drop A Buttered Slice Of Bread Or Toast, It always Falls Buttered Side Down And Everybody Everywhere Can Always Remember The Day A Dog Ran Into Their School I will be back.

The author of www.antelopevalleyhaunts.com has written an excellent article. You have made your point and there is not much to argue about. It is like the following universal truth that you can not argue with: When you meet the love of your life, you will write them poetry and sing them songs. This does not mean however that they will be good poems or that your singing voice will improve. But sing anyway, for love is a gift meant to be shared. Thanks for the info.

Have you guys ever investigated the Mary Picford house in Lancaster ?

I lived there in the 80's and even though the main house was pretty quiet , the servants quarters(apartments) in the back were very active : keys and ashtrays that would disappear and reappear in odd places . Also dark masses in my bedroom almost nightly ...

Don't know if the place is still there , but it's definitely worth checking out ...
