It is our mission to separate fact from fiction.  To experience more than the physical world has to offer.  To attempt to explain the unexplainable and to have fun doing it.

What is your Official Name :

We are 'Antelope Valley Haunts Paranormal Research Group, or, AVHPR.

 

When did you first become organized and when did you start to investigate the paranormal?

 I organized AVHPR in 1994.  I began experiencing paranormal activity in my life again after a period of quiet.  This rekindled an interest in me that had been dormant for 6 years.

I began experiencing the paranormal at the young age of 6.  I could not have known then that because of a traumatic experience my life would take a path few follow.

At the age of 15 I conducted my first paranormal investigation.  A friend and I decided to stay the night at The Hollywood Cemetery.   That is a story I will tell another time.

I went to many other locations looking for evidence of paranormal activity.   Just me and my friends, a small no name team.  My interest has continued to grow as has my team.  Now at the age of 39, I still enjoy going out with friends in search of the truth.

Do you believe in God?

The short answer is yes.  I have a personal relationship with my God.  I do not, however, believe in organized religion.  I come from a religious background and have extensive knowledge of the Old and New Testaments.  I believe that a person can be spiritual without being religious. 

We are not Satan Worshippers, Devil Worshippers, practitioners of Black Magic or anything of that sort.  I do have extensive knowledge about the occult.   However, I have learned that the Black Arts are not something to be taken lightly or used for entertainment.  This is something we stay away from. 

To belong to our group you do not have to be pro-religion to anti-religion.  We believe that spirituality is deeply personal.  We judge no one. 

How much do we make and charge?

How much we make is the most commonly asked  question.   We work completely free of charge.

However, we greatly appreciate it when people donate equipment, or even food and drinks on some occasions. Of course, monetary donations are always appreciated.  We have never charged for any investigation and never will.

The next most commonly asked question is, how much do we make?  Paranormal Research is important to us.  It is a labor of love. We donate our time, money, and hard work to this endeavor due to our strong beliefs in the paranormal.  Due to lack of funds, we have to sometimes delay our research.  However, we all band together and pitch in and back to a new investigation we go. Our greatest satisfaction is the gratitude of our clients and their appreciation after our investigation is complete. Whether we disprove or prove their haunting. 

So, the short answer is, we make nothing.

What are our intentions?

Our intentions are strictly honorable.  Our main interest is the paranormal.  But, we also dabble in Treasure Hunting, Gold Prospecting, Off Road Trailing, Herpetology, and nature studies.  We love the desert.  We are a "collect evidence only" team. Our research protocol is similar to Taps ( The Atlantic Paranormal Society).  We never use any form of medium, psychic, sensitive, divining rods, or crystals to collect our evidence. 

 Even though we do not have any sensitives, psychics or mediums in our crew, we have been called to join other groups that use them.  In this field, who is to say there is a right or wrong way to collect evidence. We respect their work and techniques and have enjoyed working with them in the past. We look forward to future endevours with them.  As we have said before, we do not judge.

How do we help people?

Our experience with paranormal activity has been a great asset to us. We are able to give a better understanding and an explanation to our clients.

 We show and share the evidence collected with our viewers. However, discretion and the confidentiality of our clients is important to us. Therefore, we will not post names and addresses of our clients.  Only the evidence. 

We teach people how to deal with paranormal activity in their daily life.  We gather evidence to determine the probability of paranormal activity. We then determine the type of activity we are encountering.  We are not there to prove or disprove.  Only to collect and present evidence or the lack of evidence and provide explanations when possible.

Why so many abandoned places?

We are mostly Urban Paranormal Researchers. What does this mean? We go to buildings and examine them. When possible we Treasure Hunt or follow an Urban Legend.  This is usually done before sundown.

We prefer to go to remote areas. We go searching for historical places and try to locate paranormal activity related to its past or to the Old West.

We have collected quite a bit of eveidence of paranormal activity. Whether that activity is residual or intelligent, who can say? 

We have also been the first to discover paranormal activity in locations that once were forgotten. We have come across an array of historical artifacts. 

Why does it take long to get an answer when I email?

I want to let everyone know that I do read every letter, application and comment.  I enjoy the requests and letters of gratitude I have received.  

But, I do have a day job and am also a father of 5 kids with 3 grand daughters and a wife of 24 years. What I do is done on my days off.  My family will always come first.  I do my best answer most of the letters and try to find a solution.

I personally answer all my letters. But only as time permits.  Please accept my apology for any delay in answering.

Can anyone go with you guys?

Yes,  we go with different people and have a great time. We are picky as to whom comes with us. We require to fill out a short form. If you are available when we call you them come on. If you work out we will call you again and again. Remember we each pull our own and help out with the equipment. A plus if you have some. Please psychics, mediums or anything of that sort need not to apply. Also be aware that we go to some amazing and hard to reach desolate areas. We have encountered venomous snakes , wild dogs and other dangers. Being fit is a plus. Some places are in hard to get or climb places. Also a picture is required with your form. We are a non profit making crew.  We volunteer our time and carry our own expenses.
